Outdoor Pallet Wall

If you read my post about wanting to create a corner patio and garden space that was cozy and private, then you surely noticed my colorful herringbone patterned privacy fence section that I made out of pallet wood. I originally saw similar fence ideas on Pinterest and loved the thought of using free pallet wood to create such a large fence area. I also loved the look of a herringbone pattern, and imagined it colored with different stains. I soon had my husband well trained to keep his eyes open and find pallets laying around various places and businesses, and between the two of us we soon had over 20 free pallets that had pretty good wood on them. I spent the next month deconstructing the pallets to get the best wood off them, sanded and stained the wood, and laid out the pattern I wanted in my garage. It was quite the undertaking, and my driveway and garage were littered with pallet parts for about a month as I worked on this huge project. Totally worth it though! We love our pallet wall. It's been over 2 years since we put it up and it has held up great! I will reseal the wood every year, but other than that I think this wall will be around a long time.
