RiseAndDesign99 has arrived!

I'm so excited to share my love of designing and creating with you. And while I've only been working on this blog for a few months, the ideas and projects go back many many years! Some of the posts are pretty bare bones about the process and really just showcase some of the pictures. If you' d like to know more about how I did something, just ask and I'll try to do my best to remember.😉

I originally started this blog to share my projects, from start to finish, in hopes of encouraging others to try some of the same, or even give them the confidence that with some thought, planning and effort that even unfamiliar skills could be attained and random new projects could be completed. The hardest part is sometimes just getting started. I thought maybe I could help inspire some others to try new things. And maybe even help along the way.  And then the reupholstering bug bit me! I just love the whole, long process. I find it very mindful to be fully immersed in a project, where all you have to think about is your current task and maybe next step. Paired with some favorite music it definitely puts me in my happy place. And then the idea of creating HokieBird chairs hit me, and so now here we are. So while most of the blog from this point might focus on the HokieChairs, I'm sure I'll still throw in a few more random projects here and there. I just can't stop. So much cool stuff to make!

I want to give a HUGE shout-out to my talented and sweet daughter who designed the logo you see on my homepage (and is pictured here!). She pretty quickly and intuitively pulled it together and wanted me to have this extra special touch for my blog. I love it! I'm one lucky momma!
